How Does Aidpage Work

Hi shew,

Click on "My posts" and scroll down to "Members who visited (xxx)" - you will be able to see how many members visited you page. Aidpage does not explicitly keep tally on who is asking for help and who is helping. There are members who come here asking for help and with the time start helping others - mostly with information and advice based on their experience.

Best,

You're welcome!

Did you get an email notification?

We stopped sending the daily digest because it wasn't very useful. But we will start sending a better version of this daily digest soon.

As of the notifications about messages addressed to you specifically, they should work. For example, you should get an email notification about this post (because it is a direct reply to your post).

This is true ONLY in the main list of one-to-one messages. And yes, this is part of the recent update. We removed the link from the nickname listed as sender of the message - because an inadvertent click on that link would not go to the message you're looking at (which would be confusing).

But you can still click on the avatar and it would go to the public page of that member.

Hi Mr-K,

After the last upgrade which we made a few days ago, the one-to-one feature works pretty much as in the old Aidpage.

You can access your main list of one-to-one messages from the link at the top of your home screen.

Once there (in the main list of one-to-one messages), you can click on a specific message. This will load the one-to-one screen between you and one other member.

Once in that screen (between you and one other member), you can post a message to that member... and browse all older messages between you both.

You can access directly that screen (one-to-one between you and one other member) from the link "one-to-one" that you see when you hover over the avatar of that member.

Basically, this is the same logic that we had in the old Aidpage.

One detail - in the one-to-one feed between you and another member, there is no "reply" box under each message because there is no need - you just post a message in the large box at the top. It is self-evident who is posting and to whom.

Best,
AidageTeam

Use the search at the top of the screen to find other pages that may be useful.

A note about using the new Aidpage... especially to users accustomed to the old

A note about using the new Aidpage... especially to users accustomed to the old version:

When you bookmark Aidpage, do NOT bookmark your "public page" (which was your homepage in the old version). You can easily access your public page from the user menu (top-right corner of screen). But you don't really need to go there often.

For your everyday usage of Aidpage, you need to bookmark simply aidpage.com (http://aidpage.com). Your homepage now is aidpage.com - all the functions you need are here:
- reading of posts from "Everyone" or "My people"
- replying to posts (no need to jump to another page to do this)
- making of a new post
- accessing your one-to-one messages

If you already have a bookmark that links to your "public page", you may consider replacing it with a bookmark to http://aidpage.com.

Has anyone heard of Larry Cole? Well, he offered to help me financially, but

That might be even better than PayPal. Good Luck!

Has anyone heard of Larry Cole? Well, he offered to help me financially, but

You have to be careful even with people contacting you through Aidpage. Use common sense... and ask us or other members when you're not sure.

If someone wants to help you with money, use PayPal. When using PayPal, you don't need to give to the other person your personal email, street address, bank information, etc... With PayPal, you give only the email address you use on your PayPal account. You can create a free email account to use only for PayPal... so that you don't share with strangers your main personal email address - the one you give to friends and relatives.
